I've been busy writing my essay for restoration english (soooo much fun-->not) since I need to pass all my courses I put in some effort to write a better essay than the one before, which I passed with a C. (oh well a pass is a pass, right?)But because of it I haven't had time to tell you more about the trip with my mom.

As you know we were sleeping on the edge of a park not knowing exactly where we were...
In the morning it turned out we were parked in a really fancy neighbourhood and we started to refer to it as: "in de tuin van de Burgemeester." Hihi.

After breakfast we were on our way again to pass Auckland on our way up to either the west or the eastcoast, depending on the weather. After informing at one of the I sites (vvv) what the weatherforecast would be we decided to go west first. But somehow we missed all the exits and found ourselves driving towards the eastcoast instead. Oh well, change of plans.

We found a beautiful beach to stay, but at all the other beachfronts signs were saying that overnight camping was not allowed. At this beach thingy there was no sign, but we were still not sure if we were allowed to stay there for the night.

There was this guy who was dropping off some rubbish and my mom hopped out of the car to ask him if it was ok to stay there for the night. Is answer was positive and so we decided to find a good spot for the campervan. While doing so the guy returned and offered us to come and stay on his lawn. He had a beach house at the beach.

So,why not??
We followed him and came to even a more beautiful beach! We parked on his lawn and then he took us up to his house to show us where the toilet was. The toilet was outside of his house so that was convenient enough.
Then he put on the warm water heater for us (he had just arrived in his beach house) so we could take a shower...eh..?..ok?
He told us he wouldn't be there most of the night but he would leave his house open and lights on so we could find our way. "Me Casa est Su Casa" (whatever the spelling of that may be...)

His name was Timothy and he was a very very cool guy. He was around 60 and a bachelor. The houses on beaches are called "bach" (say: baetsj) derived from bachelor, wich suited timothy very well.
One of his photo's on the wall showed him and "Xena, the warrior princess" so I asked him if he had met her. It turns out that he has played a part in the series! Hihi how funny!

Later on he joined us at the van to have a drink and then he was picked up by his friends to go 'clubbin', hihi.
so, we took a shower when he was gone, not completely unnecessary, ;)

In the morning, my mom and took for another shower (ohw luxury!) and after that we went for a wal on the beach. My mom had this great idea to walk around some rocks since it was low tide...
Eum, yeah...good idea...
Once we came to the other side (my mom first) there were these waves...and my mom walked into deeper and deeper water..until it came up to her waist! Hahah and what did I do? Oh like a loyal daughter is supposed to...I followed her. (yep pretty stupid)
We got totally soaked but we were lucky we both could keep our balance. The surge of the waves was very strong and I don't want to think about what could have happened.

When we came back to Timothy's house he started laughing: So you girls decided to go for a swim fully clothed eh?
Eum...well...No...
I know, he said, you thought you could walk around the rocks...(that made us even feel more stupid) But there was no end to Timothy's hospitality and he put our clothes in the washer and then he had coffee ready! Man what a tough deal we had, sitting on this balcony in Langs beach looking out over the ocean with a nice cup of coffee...pfff..

This guy, he was great, if I ever come back in Langs Beach I'll definitely go and see him! And it makes me think it was meant to be, ending at the eastcoast instead of westcoast. Otherwise we wouldn't have met this incredible guy! (this sounds pretty yuk, I know, but really he was a real nice guy)

Well, I'll leave it at this for now...sharing this experience is enough for now.

love,
